Sleep Time

This is how I found Rhys the other day when I went to check on him. I opened the door and looked in the cot but couldn't see him. At first I thought he had fallen out and was on the floor (he is into climbing on anything at the moment and we really need to put the base of the cot down). He had broken out of hs safe-t-sleep which velcroes around his tummy and (usually) keeps him from banging his head and ending up like this. He still slept for a couple of hours and I did remove the blanket from his face but it doesn't look the most comfortable.
I am pretty lucky with Joseph and sleep time as he still normally sleeps for a couple of hours or more in the middle of the day - it's grand when they sleep at the same time! Yesterday however, he had different ideas. We did the usual routine, toilet, nappy on (it's always dry when he wakes but we still put it on anyway), story, then I say I will come back in a minute. Well, I came back four times and he was still awake - about 40 minutes had passed and in that time he had done handstands (feet on the wall, hands on the bed), reached into the dresser and tried on socks and baby shoes, thrown pillows off the bed and the final one where I knew I was not going to get my two hours toddler free time, sitting on the dresser after throwing off all the toys complete with huge grin and very wide awake eyes. We opened the curtains, took the nappy off, got dressed and went out! Needless to say he was exhausted by 5pm and went to sleep when Nick was reading to him sometime after 7.
